"Almost Edible Ceramics " is a series of semi-functional ceramic sculptures exploring the intersections of food, eating, sensuality, sexuality, and organic growth.

They are studio built one of a kind porcelain pieces by long time designer/artist Eric Boos, using both traditional and innovative techniques.  The pieces are precisely sculpted with glass-smooth surfaces, clean and formal lines, carefully balanced volumes, and edges “so sharp you can almost shave with them.”  The pieces are given multiple layers of ceramic glazes and multiple firings to develop the vibrant colors.

“I realized one day, looking at a cluster of the sculptures on a work table, that it made my mouth water to look at them, that my colors were so juicy I wanted to eat my own work.  I think that’s great fun.”
