Darci Cox is a clay sculptress best known for her minimal, abstract clay vessel sculpture. She was introduced to the clay in the early 1970's at the University of South Florida, Tampa, where she received her degree. After graduating she continued researching and developing her skills. In 1989, Darci was invited to become the Clay Sculptress for a prestigious gallery in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, under the ownership of Ruth Durrenmatt, daughter of famed German Playwright, Fredrich Durrenmatt. She exhibited her work through the gallery where she received international recognition. In 1995 she opened her own studio, in Fort Lauderdale, where she continues to research the clay and create sculpture. Her work has been exhibited over the years in selected galleries and has attracted private collectors. Darci Cox creates her works with the philosophy that it blends with the textures, simplicity, realness and raw sophistication representative of her artistic core.
